The clincher came when I went to the doctor for some minor sinus problem — and after they took my blood pressure I thought the clinic was going into some kind of Code Red. The nurse was freaking out over how high my BP was…and, believe me, that attitude of hers did nothing to help me drop it back down!

Clearly, to stay alive and enjoying good health as long as I possibly could, my rather urgent challenge was to find a way to lower this sky-high blood pressure of mine…or else face seven times the risk of stroke and three times the risk of heart disease at a relatively early age.




That got me searching for a blood pressure-lowering product, preferably a natural, organic, nutritional supplement instead of one of the three major pharmaceutical approaches to the hypertension problem.

I had looked into the pharmaceutical “solutions” and wasn’t at all impressed. First off, and as with most pharmaceuticals, they’re only intended as temporary “bandages,” nothing that even remotely addressed the underlying problems. Or that aimed for a long-term solution.

Then, of course, there are the reported side-effects. It doesn’t matter which category of prescription drug you take, either — alpha blocker, diuretic or vasodilator — they all have their dark sides. So I started visiting health food stores and talking to the people running those places. From the seemingly enlightening conversations I had, I began trying each store’s “most highly recommended” formula, one at a time. And, one at a time, each formula let me down. Not a one made a dent in my high blood pressure numbers at all.

It was about then I noticed the common theme running through virtually all of these supplement formulas. As I said before, they pretty much all had the same ingredients (the magnesium, potassium, calcium, vitamin C, cayenne and garlic). So it stood to reason that if one didn’t work for me — and they were all so similar — it was likely none of them would. I began to get discouraged.
